This should be a great next few weeks for our fans. Upon our finalizing our league rules and regulations, we have moved forward in the signing of players. We have had a tremendous response from potential candidates and we look forward to a very spirited round of tryout and training camps.

The 1000 Island Privateers are pleased to announce an official corporate partnership with the Watertown Daily Times (WTD). The WDT is the most widely circulated newspaper in northern New York State. Stay tuned for more details on this and other corporate partnerships the Privateers enter into.
The Privateers marketing team and ownership were in attendance for the Alexandria Bay Chamber of Commerce meeting on Monday April 19th. The Ogdensburg Cham of Commerce welcomed the group on Wednesday. The Privateers organization is appreciative for the opportunity to meet the area business owners and present on our corporate partnership opportunities. We are looking forward to future opportunities with these businesses.

The Danbury Whalers will be entering into a partnership with Ann’s Place of Danbury, Connecticut. Lori Zezza of the organization answered a few questions for this week’s newsletter:
Q: What is Ann’s Place?
L: Ann’s Place, The Home of I CAN, a regional cancer support and resource center, has been serving Connecticut and New York residents since 1991. Ann’s Place provides support groups, counseling, and wellness services to over 650 people each month – survivors and their families who are facing a cancer diagnosis. Here, professionally trained clinical social workers, counselors, educators and wellness professionals guide patients from the time of diagnosis, through treatment and into recovery, helping each person achieve their own level of well-being, fulfillment, and personal growth. All services, programs, and materials are provided free of charge. Today, Ann’s Place is building a new home, a facility, which will allow for expansion of programming and services.
Q: What involvement will the organization have with the Danbury Whalers?
L: There will be an Ann’s Place Night at a Danbury Whalers hockey game during the upcoming season to raise funds for the organization.
Q: What will Ann’s Place Night entail?
L: The date for the event is to be determined. The Night will entail a cancer survivor dropping the ceremonial first puck, exciting auction items, a raffle, post game chuck a puck, and Ann’s Place materials will be distributed.

Rome Frenzy

The “Rome Frenzy” will be participating in the 2010 Rome Home Show to be held at the Rome Armory, 1110 Black River Blvd , Rome , NY. The Home Show is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 10:00am – 6:00pm and Sunday May 2, 2010 from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase “Rome Frenzy” Inaugural Season Tickets as well as Frenzy merchandise. All attendees are encouraged to stop by the “Rome Frenzy” booth (# 30) to register for a drawing of a Frenzy Sweatshirt. This annual event, sponsored by the Rome Chamber of Commerce traditionally draws over 4,000 visitors. Akwesasne Warriors
The Akwesasne Warriros Professional Hockey Team, proud member of the Federal Hockey League (FHL), is pleased to unveil the design of their new logo. The design was rendered by John B. Thomas.
John has painted with many mediums, including acrylic paintings on canvas, pen and ink illustrations for books, posters, calendars, a game board, wall murals, plaques, helmets and on the coveted Harley Davidson motorcycles. He has also created many logos, such as the Aboriginal Hockey Association, Iroquois Water Ltd., Mohawk Springs, and the Turtle Island Café, to name a few.
With a career spanning 35 years, painting has been one of John's primary mediums. His vibrant works reinforce and portray many of the Iroquois cultural attributes. He is able to articulate the details of the Haudenosaunee (People of the Longhouse) culture with| great accuracy and attention to the most intricate detail.
Be on the lookout as the Akwesasne Warriors are holding an open tryout in Ottawa between April 30th and May 2nd at the Ray Friel Arena. To register for the tryout fill out the registration form on the website and email it to bawwad@akwesasnewarriors.com

The BC Barons are pleased to announce the signings of Brent and Graham Fallon to Tryout Contracts.
Brent is a 6’1” 175lb Defenseman born in 1986 who resides in Endicott, NY. Brent attended Union/Endicott HS. Brent played several years in the CJHL lastly with the Cornwall Colts, before playing his final season with the Jr A Senators of the AJHL. Brent played collegiately for SUNY Cortland where he earned a spot on the SUNYAC All Rookie Team.
Graham is a 1986 born Power Forward also from Endicott, NY. Graham weighs in at 210 lbs and 6’2” tall. Graham also attended Union/Endicott High School with his brother. Graham played three years in the CJHL where he was selected to the All Star Team in 2004-2005. In his final season in Junior Hockey, Graham played for the Jr A Senators in the AJHL. Graham played his college hockey for SUNY Cortland where he was Rookie of the Week two weeks in a row.

New York Aviators
Aviators Unveil New Logo Design
The New York Aviators are proud to unveil the design of their new logo. The design, by Greg McKeon, was chosen to reflect Floyd Bennett Field’s aviation history, echoing the United States’ aviator badges of World War II. Rob Miller, Head Coach and President of the A’s commented, “I love the way that the new logo ties into the aviation history of our facility. I believe it will look great on our jerseys and the fans will love it.” New merchandise featuring the newly designed logo will be available in the coming months. Additionally, the A’s announced their slogan for the season, “Flying High Again”. Coming off of their undefeated season, the A’s selected this slogan in hopes of continuing a winning tradition both on and off the ice.
